Davina Drabkin - President

Davina Drabkin joined the board of trustees in 2010.  She and her husband have three children and Davina has been an active parent volunteer in Burlingame schools.  She has served on the District’s Strategic Planning Committee, volunteered as a yard supervisor for 6 years, organized bake sales, and helped at many school events including BIS’s Spring Fling and McKinley’s Harvest Festival.  Davina and her husband are ardent supporters of BCE, the District’s foundation.

 
Davina earned a BA in Psychology from U.C. Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.  She studied abroad in both Russia and Guatemala.  After graduating from U.C. Berkeley, she served as John Gardner Fellow in Public Service before working for a medical device consulting firm and then for Kaiser Permanente.  Davina currently develops curricular material for Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.  

 

Providing all of our children with a rigorous and well-rounded education in an encouraging environment is a top priority for Davina.  She is about to complete the Masters in Governance Program through the California School Boards Association and one of her favorite activities as a board member is getting out to visit schools.  She also serves on Peninsula Temple Sholom’s Religious School Committee, where she co-chaired the search for the current director and has co-chaired the parent organization.  Davina enjoys walking her two dogs and is working towards a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Greg Land was elected to the Burlingame School District Board of Trustees in November 2005. He is also a board of director for PalCare, a preschool in Burlingame. He has been a teacher for over 15 years. In 1999, he was honored to be nominated for "Teacher of the Year" in the Los Angeles Area by the California League of Middle Schools. He has been a mentor teacher (BTSA Provider) in both Redwood City and Los Angeles, helping new teachers start their careers. He has also been a teacher consultant with UCLA and UC Berkeley working with their History/Social Science Projects. He is currently the Principal of Roy Cloud Schoool in Redwood City. He holds a BA in Political Science from UCLA and is about to finish his MA in Public Administration from Notre Dame de Namur. Greg and his wife, Rose have lived in Burlingame since 2000, and their daughter is currently a student at a District school.

Liz Gindraux - Clerk

Liz Gindraux was elected to the Burlingame School Board in November 2005 after having been an active member of the Burlingame School Community for five years.  She has  volunteered her time and effort to support the PTA and other fund raising efforts. Liz spent two years on the Washington School Site Council and two years as PTA President at Washington Elementary School while participating in many school and district committees. As Co-Chair of Art on the Line, Liz helped to develop, brand and run this grass-roots district wide collaboration supporting art in our schools. In her life before becoming a mom, Liz spent a number of years as a marketing and public relations professional in the publishing and adaptive technology industries. She holds a B.S in Business Management from the University of Redlands. Liz and her husband Olivier have three children that went through the Burlingame School District, two of their children attend Burlingame High School and they have a daughter in college.

Mark G. Intrieri joined the Board of Trustees in 2008. He is a practicing attorney, admitted to the State Bar of California in 1984 after graduating cum laude from the University of Santa Clara in 1981. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Santa Clara School of Law in 1984, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in the subject of labor law.

Mr. Intrieri is a principal and co-founder of Chapman & Intrieri, L.L.P. In 2004, he was recognized by his peers as one of the top 100 lawyers in Northern California and has been annually elected from 2004 to the present as a Norther California "Super Lawyer" in the area of civil litigation.

Since 1984, Mr. Intrieri has specialized in civil litigation and trial work in product liability, employment, business, construction, public entity and intellectual property litigation. He also has extensive experience in education and labor law for public entities, including conducting labor negotiations, contract administration, grievance arbitrations and administrative hearings. Mr. Intrieri represents both private clients and public entities in complex business and real estate matters and general civil litigation. Other areas in which he is experienced include personal injury defense, eminent domain, construction disputes, trademark infringment, complex toxic tort litigation and Government Code false claims Act cases.

Mr. Intrieri is admitted to all courts of the State of California, as well as the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Northern California Association of Defense Counsil, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, The Defense Research Institute, The Empire Who's Who Registry of Executives and Professionals and the California School Boards Association.

Mr. Intrieri is currently serving his second term as a member of the Burlingame Elementary School District Board of Trustees and volunteers his time coaching youth baseball and football in his community. He resides in Burlingame with his wife Katie and their four children.

Michael Barber was elected to the Burlingame School District Board of Trustees in November, 1999. He has worked on a variety of school district committees since his election and has served in all board positions. He is a certified public accountant working as a Budget Analyst for San Mateo County Supervisor Dave Pine. He grew up in the Bay Area and in Victoria, BC Canada. He served in the US Army as an artillery officer for 6 years after graduating from UC Berkeley. If he is not at work or at a school board function, he is probably at home tending to his apple trees, compost and garden, or watching his twin girls play lacrosse, basketball or soccer.
